This illustrates the utter incompetence and/or corruption of the previous junta.
$1 trillion of pandemic relief was lost to fraud, and nearly every American's personal data is for sale online: '60 Minutes'
From the article:
'They begin buying stolen identities so that they can begin applying for disaster loans, disaster grants, on behalf of stolen identities.'
Miller said she was glad to see that tech billionaire Elon Musk, who headed up DOGE, was making the issue of fraud such a public issue.
"To be honest, Elon Musk coming out and saying, 'There is a huge amount of fraud,' I welcome that message completely because finally, someone is actually saying this," she said.
She said that much of the fraud was from foreign state actors, mostly from Russia and China. She estimated that the total amount of federal money lost through fraud every year was between $550 billion and $750 billion, and is nearing a trillion.
"What we're really talking about is nation-state actors," she said. "We're talking about organized crime rings. We're talking about using vast amounts of stolen Americans' identities to monetize them for, you know, criminal activity."
Among the more astounding claims was that nearly every American's Social Security number and other private information were available for purchase on the dark web.

There was an old lady who swallowed a fly, I don't know why she swallowed a fly, I guess she'll die"/
Feds Breeding Billions of Flies, Planning to Dump Them on Texas and Mexico
Mexico may not notice a few billion more flies, but won't this make Texas a might uncomfortable?
They are dumping sterile flies to help wipe out a very damaging parasite from the Screwworm fly that is decimating cattle.
Sterile male screwworm flies are being dumped in these areas to out-compete the native born population (I suppose the irony of this is lost in Texas and other border states). The hope is they die and then that is that.
The flies are grown in Panama, then shipped here, where they are sorted by sex. You must have really good eyesight to do that, I suppose. And patience.
Then they are dumped in Texas where they overwhelm the indigenous insects.
Of course this will leave a nice big gap in the ecology, and something will step up to fill it. That something could be quite terrible.
This is the kind of hubris that leads to disaster. We know what happened to the old lady in the end.

The United Kingdom is shrinking like a bottle of Napoleon Brandy in the King's consort's chamber as wealthy individuals flee the country to escape the oppressive social climate and high taxes imposed by the Laborite government.
Brittania no longer rules the waves - or anything else. It's now just a pathetic shell.
FTA:
Projections indicate 16,500 high-net-worth individuals — those whose "liquid investable wealth [is worth] $1 million or more” — are seeking residency in other countries.
Founder of Apex Capital Partners Nuri Katz helps people like this by offering guidance should they wish to relocate.
Always follow the money. If the wealthy are getting ready to flee you know Britain is broken and probably all the King's horses and all the King's men won't be able to put her back together.

Hakeem Jeffries in 2022 who just did a nine hour filibuster on the House floor.
I know; technically it'snot a filibuster as that is only in the Senate thanks to the unlimited time alloted Senators and no end of debate excpept through a cloture vote. But the House Minority Leader gets unlimited time and so this is for all intents-and-purposes a filibuster.

I was just thinking (a vice I occasionally indulge) about the time James Carville called Bill Clinton the "most moral man in America" and it gave me an idea for a great t-shirt for women. It should say "Bill Clinton slept here" on it.
And you could make out well by putting that sign on every Motel 6 in the Arkansas/Kentucky/Tennessee/Missouri/Texas and Oklahoma areas. (I assume he didn't use the Motel 6 or Red Roof in or Days Inn or whatnot when in the White House, though I may be wrong.)
I would like to be the guy who made the signs; there would be a fortune in it.
Liberals have a very different idea of moral.

Here is an analysis of the long-term impact of Trump's immigration policies on California and elsewhere. A study by the Brennan Center suggests CA could fall to Texas as largest state in the Union, and lose maybe three Congressional seats.
The machine the Dems built to gain eternal power seems to be falling apart.
I remember James Carville crowing about how the GOP was destined to become a minority party because of demographics. How's that working out for you Serpent head?

So the new thing is for liberals to put up "everyone is welcome" signs in schools. And despite Idaho declaring these political opinions they intend to keep doing it.
So, everyone is welcome, eh? Odd; most liberals were apoplectic that Donald Trump was welcoming Afrikaaners from South Africa. I guess they aren't part of "everyone". I suspect they also wouldn't welcome Conservative whites either. Or Daughters of the Confederacy. They most certainly do not welcome unborn babies, whom they have deemed worthy of being killed on a whim.
DEI is purely political and these signs are clearly intended to promote that corrupting and neo-marxist philosophy.
Would these people be o.k. with a confederate battle flag being displayed, or with a Gadsden flag. No?
There is nothing more dishonest or hypocritical than a liberal.

I heartily agree with this essay. Rights that do not come from God are no rights at all.
Our modern era pretty much accepts the idea of Rousseau, who wrote in The Social Compact that rights were essentially the collective will of the People (Rousseau was the father of socialism). That view is essentially what is taught in our universities these days. And it is entirely anti-Christian as it presupposes God does not exist and thus should have no role in our society.
But even if God doesn't exist (and there are so very many reasons to believe He does) we are at least appealing to an absolute and thus cannot renege on rights. Community-granted "rights" are mere privileges, to be revoked when society deems they should.
And it is this basic belief in the Divine nature of rights that is the cornerstone of all of our success. Economics and politics are all downstream from Faith. We've been systematically kicking God out of society and at the same time have witnessed the economic and civil decline of America. That is no coincidence. When people stop believing in absolutes they then believe in their own will and in power alone. Power can control, force people, but it cannot get people to act decently because that's the right thing to do. And in a power-structure state the corruption and depravity all around the citizenry leads them to try to grab what they can. Crime is a logical act in a Godless society. In a moral society it's absolutely inexcusable.
The article agrees. It states:
That’s a dangerous idea. If rights come from consensus, consensus can erase them. If governments or global committees grant rights, they can redefine or revoke them when convenient. There is no firm ground, only shifting sands.
Many Americans now prefer this softer, godless version of human dignity. They invoke justice but reject the Judge. They want rights without a Creator, happiness without truth, liberty without responsibility. But rights without God offer no security — and happiness without God dissolves into fantasy. It’s a mirage.
I don't know if I would say we PREFER a Godless universe, but probably a majority agree with the arguments made by the Godless, as they have never heard good arguments from the remnant of the Faithful. Too few Christians bother to educate themselves on the philosophy and the science behind God. Regular readers of this blog know I've given a great many arguments rooted in science that strongly suggest there is a God. (One simple example; why do people believe in a God or gods at all? We seem hard-wired to do so and isolated peoples quickly devolve into mysticism. But there is no society on Earth, and never has been, that is formally atheistic except the old Eastern Block, which was horribly repressive and collapsed within decades of it's triumph over religion. If there was no God most of us wouldn't feel there is one.) The Anthropic Principle is another example. So is abiogenesis, a reversal of entropy.I could go on but that is for another essay.
At any rate most people sense there is some sort of God but the people running our educational system and the media have labored long and hard to destroy the "superstition" of faith and nobody wants to seem a fool. "Smart people" embrace atheism, they believe. And so too most people can't square the problem of suffering with an all-loving God so they simply pretend God isn't there, rather than admit there may be good reasons for all of the pain of life.
At any rate the author of this piece is spot-on; all of the freedoms we have come from our acknowledgement that God exists and is the author of human freedom. The U.N. pretends God is just a concensus.
Where did it get that idea from? Well, Rousseau, of course, and it was Rousseau's philosophy that was adopted both by Karl Marx and Giovanni Gentile, father of Fascism. Mussolini was attracted to Fascism because it was socialism with a spiritual component. Mussolini rightly understood that Marxism failed to take root in the public precisely because of it's materialism, it's view that all things in life were rooted in economics. Fascism was very materialistic, but it advocated the substitution of a new, strange religion over Christianity, and that came from Rousseau, who suggested making the People's collective will into God and the state being it's unholy church. Fascism, with it's religious emphasis on the glory of the state, was just socialism with a mystical quality. The Nazis took that a step further, making the German race God. It is no coincidence the Nazis were ferociously superstitious and always looking for religious and ancient artifacts. In fact, the top brass (except maybe Hitler himself, who seemed more interested in self-worship) of the Nazis were Theosophists, members of the Thule Society. Theosoophy was created in New York City by Helena Blavatsky,a Russian mystic. She taught all religions were partly true. Theosophism is basically cafeteria religion. It's primarily pagan and pantheistic and monistic. All of the Nazi insignia - the lightning bolt SS, the swastika, came from their association with the Thule Society. THAT was the religion which leavened their socialism.
At an rate the core problem with socialism and with fascism is that they fundamentally disdain the Judeo-Christian God in favor of a man-centered system, one gleaned from Rousseau and the other late 18th century philosophes.
As was attributed to Chesterton, when you stop believing in God you will believe in anything. Naziism was proof of that. So is Marxism.
I would modify that and say when you stop believing in CHRIST and Yahweh you will believe in anything. Look at the Islamic world for proof thereof.
America was greatly blessed because our ancestors came here seeking religious freedom. They were "bible thumpers" as we would say today. Of course there has been a ruthless war on such folks, painting them as evil (look at some of the crap we've been treated to, like "The Handmaiden's tale" or whatnot.) The war has been relentless and it has gone on since the 19th century. The atheists have nearly won.
But the more success they have had the worse things have become in America and in Europe. Europe is almost dead now - being overrun by aliens who still have a sort of moral core. We were almost overrun ourselves.
We lie at a decision point; return to our beliefs or adopt the hip new swinger's Godlessness. If we choose the latter will will lose our country. But hey! We can have some fun times until then! That's what the Democrats believe and that's what so many seem to want.
That belief is trash and America will wind up in the trashbin of history.

They do realize there aren't actual dogs in hot dogs, don't they?
PETA to Protest at Nathan’s Hot Dog Eat Contest in Joey Chestnut’s Return
Look, if you are vegan and won't eat anything with a face (I wouldn't eat a clock -I don't have time for that - but that's about the only thing with a face I wouldn't eat) so be it. But cows are bred specifically for dairy and for meat and if the cow is butchered isn't it better that it's less desirable parts - lips, nose, butt, etc. be efficiently used? As Mimi said on The Drew Carey show to Drew's vegan girlfriend "it's not like you can put it back together...it's now a cow puzzle". And people are not going to stop eating meat. It's in our DNA - literally. Eating meat is what separated us from the primates over a million years ago. It's part of the definition of being human.
And if you won't eat meat why eat plants? Don't they have a right to live too? Where does it stop.
Cows are peaceable critters but dumb as dirt. They don't have much to live for - just stand out in the weather all day and munch on grass and get the occasional Ooumoumou from the bull. It's not exactly a full life.
So we eat them. But hot dogs are our way of using every part of them, so their deaths will not be in vain. The only meaning in their lives IS being turned into steaks and chops and other tasty morsels to feed human beings.
Now, I get being turned off on hot dog eating contests, which are gluttonous affairs and truly disgusting. But don't they have anything better to complain about? There are still cock fights and dog fights and whatnot requiring their attention. And if you are REALLY worried about cruelty you would work to stop abortions and trans surgeries on minors. But they prefer to worry about hot dogs.
Well, let me be frank; I say they are a bunch of weiners.

How can anyone tell the difference? It's Philadelphia, after all. (W.C. Fields had it right.)
Union Garbage Strike In Philadelphia Leads To Vandalism, Health Concerns
When PATCO, the Professional Air Traffic Controllers union, went on strike early in the first term of Ronald Reagan he simply fired them all and hired new controllers, most from the military. He argued it was illegal to strike and this was a critical job that required people show up. Garbage, while less glamorous, is similar and if these trash guys won't do it they should be canned (pardon the pun) and replacements brought in.
Philadelphia is a sanctuary city so why don't they just recruit some of these illegal aliens to "do the work Americans just won't do"? Then if the union thugs try to beat them up they can just self-deport back to whence they came.
I imagine the Democrats would be scared spitless to pit illegals against the labor unions.

I don't think this is a good idea. I prefer starting a new Mt. Rushmore with Reagan and Trump. Maybe Eisenhower. Oh, and while Rush Limbaugh wasn't a President maybe we can tack him up there too! Maybe Calvin Coolidge.
Mount Rushmore Could Get Trump Upgrade Under GOP Push
In a letter sent Thursday to U.S. Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum, Ogles called on the federal government to consider engraving President Trump’s likeness alongside George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln.
Maybe they should have one ear purposely deformed on the statue as a reminder to how close Trump came to being assassinated - and then didn't stop.

Awesome: Hakeem Jeffries Warns of "Deportation Machine on Steroids" as House Passes Trump’s "Big Beautiful Bill"
His anger at this should prove once and for all that the Democrats really do hate Middle America and were purposely trying to erase us. Nobody who cared about the People would be angry that our border will be made secure and trespassing aliens will be sent home.
This is good news for everyone except the Democrats and RINO Republicans.
In related news Joe Biden, after eating much ice cream an ttaking his aderol, managed to bemoan the fact his Presidency is melting like the morning dew:
Biden Says His Accomplishments Are "Disappearing So Rapidly" Under Trump
Given his "accomplishments" were all evil and anti-American and made this country weaker, less safe, and poorer I would say "job well done, Mr. Trump!"
We sorely needed to erase Biden.

Goodie gumdrops!
They killed the new tax on wind and solar projects.
This was never anything but a scheme to plunder wealth from the American middle class. IF there was a market for wind and solar they would use wind and solar voluntarilly. The fact is it's an expensive and unreliable energy source that still requires fossil-fuel generators on standby. It was purely a tool to reduce the energy usage of the First World.
I would add that this was promoted by Russia.
Energy is the measure of wealth in the modern world and the internationalists sought to reduce ours to balance us out with the developing world, so we could have relative parity and then create world government.
And this got it's big push under George W. Bush, who began promoting this, sounding almost identical to Jimmy Carter, who pushed it in the '70's as a way to stop "Global Cooling" and to make us less dependent on foreign oil. Bush used identical reasoning, only he worried about Global Warming more than cooling, but in the end it was the same arguments. He continued the policy when it became evident that America had all the oil it needed right here - it was just a matter of going and getting it. Trump is going and getting it. "Renewables" are just a toy for guilt-ridden white liberals to feel good about themselves. (Granted, there are a few people who live off-grid and use it, but they are a huge minority and they do it because it's the only way to get power out in the wilderness where they live.)
The only reason we had electric vehicles and the rest is because government funded it. Without the subsidies the companies will phase this stuff out as they are unprofitable and will remain so for the forseeable future. (I've long argued that we need a major change in how we produce power from wind and solar - the traditional methods don't work very well. We don't need bigger windmills we need some entirely new idea. I've long thought about that without much luck.)
Until there is some major scientific breakthrough that makes it possible to generate power from wind and solar cheaply and efficiently and reliably there will be no market for it. All those subsidies have done is make the connected rich at taxpayer's expense.
So today is independence day - from environmentalist price goughing on our energy systems.

In honor of OBcubed, I give you this sad mutilation of a song by Al Jolson. I wrote it in just minutes so if it isn't any good, I say suck it up:
The Congress cheered, that what I've heard
Just turn out the lights before Jeffries says another word!
in the shadows the Democrats conspire
their anger blazes, some plan to retire
Schumer curses, Pelosi bleats
they invoke a rule from Byrd, the wearer of sheets
they'd thought they'd won some time ago
now Trump and Elon are cutting off the dough
Oh, you beautiful bill, you great big beautiful bill
you will cut our taxes and end the slide
The Dems so made, they can't abide it
Oh you beautiful bill, you great big beautiful bill!
Biden's wife said "let them eat cake" but now she's facing a political earthquake
oh, you beautiful bill! You great big beautiful bill!
Media lies while AOC fantasizes
Dreams of a leftist paradise
while crazy Carville advises
but the voters they could not entice
Squeeze the money from the voters they don't care
give it to leftists, aliens, and dudes with orange hair
while Kamala cackles and AOC does her stare
they want to be king of everything
Now they are in heaps of trouble and some may end in Sing-Sing.
Now the BBB will be fulfilled
now our leaders are working our will
beat the drum, play the fife!
we're headed now for a better life!
oh, you beautiful bill! You great big beautiful bill!

A win at SCOTUS for the Trump Administration (and America).
Court allows Trump administration to move forward in sending group of immigrants to South Sudan
Maybe that judge Cogan guy who issued a nationwide ban on deportations recently can get into a Texas Cage match with whoever wrote the Majority opinion for the Supreme Court. He's already blown off their orders.(It'sodd; the judge who issued the injunction against pulling these men out of Djibouti and inserting them in South Sudan is also Irish - Murphy. What is it with Irish judges and illegal immigrants?)
If they are allowing this they cannot possibly allow Cogan to get away with thumbing his big Irish nose at them.
Currently these deportees are being held in Djibouti. No wisecracks please.
At any rate this article stresses the idiotic dissents from the usual suspects - Brown-Jackson, Kagan, etc. but fails to give one shred from the majority opinion. And of course it was all about how terrible it is to send illegal aliens who invaded the U.S. back to their own country. The dissent said they were being sent back to face arrest and possible torture. Well, if they face arrest and torture, are they people we really want in THIS country? Seems to me they are probably not choir boys.
It is not America's obligation to take in anyone or everyone. These people know the game and claim they seek asylum when they rarely do. This just isn't our problem; we've got to lose the hubris that says Ameria can fix everything. We can't. Right now we need to fix our own country.

Rules are SO for the Bourgeoisie!
Mamdani lied on Columbia application, claimed to be black
FTA:
Columbia, like many elite universities, used a race-conscious affirmative action admissions program at the time. Reporting that his race was Black or African American in addition to Asian could have given an advantage to Mr. Mamdani, who was born in Uganda and spent his earliest years there.
In an interview on Thursday, Mr. Mamdani, 33, said he did not consider himself either Black or African American, but rather "an American who was born in Africa.” He said his answers on the college application were an attempt to represent his complex background given the limited choices before him, not to gain an upper hand in the admissions process. (He was not accepted at Columbia.
In anyone else I would say it was praiseworthy that he doesn't consider himself anything but an American. Sadly he's not a man who seems much interested in BEING an American.
No,I suspect he was just pulling out all the stops to gain acceptance to an elite college (itself an unworthy goal, if you ask me - the elite colleges are the root of our problems.)
Years ago there was a big stink over a white South African immigrant to the U.S. putting down on his college application he was "African American". The school kicked him out when they realized he was a WHITE African American; can't have that!
That is the trouble with basing this on so nebulous a distinction as race; most people have an admixture of blood, and many are they who look white but have native American or Oriental (I hate the phrase "Asian" as all three major racial groups cohabit the continent of Asia) or even black. Many more blacks have Caucasian blood (like Barack Obama). Basically, at this point, there are few who cannot claim some minority blood.
That's why trying to give a leg up to "minorities" is silly; who qualifies? The confederates all accused Abraham Lincoln of having "negro" blood. There were those who accused Adolph Hitler of being part Jewish. And you know what? They might well have been. Who cares? It shouldn't be about your ancestry anyway. (Granted, it's too bad Hitler didn't embrace his potential Jewishnes - he would have been a much better person and would have wound up perhaps being a force for great good in the world rather than monster he became.)
At any rate it's not really about what some kid did in high school so much as about the rank hypocrisy of the Left and how rules only apply to others. They always exempt themselves from the rules they impose. And they do that because in their hearts they believe they are better than the rest of us.

Shouldn't people go to jail for this?
New: CIA Assessment Reveals How Far Obama Administration Went to Frame Trump, Implicates Officials
Brennan, Clapper, and Comey were the unholy trinity that fomentted the "Russian collusion" lie, and did so consciously. Brennan, for instance, excluded 13 of the 17 intelligence agencies so he could avoid anyone objecting. And he hand-picked flunkies who would do his bidding. Oh, and it was Brennan who included the Steele Dossier despite serious doubts about it in the intelligence community.
In other words the Obama Administration purposely sabottaged the incoming administration. And the report concludes this was at the order of Barack Hussein Obama.
How many laws were broken? No doubt at least a dozen.

Another day, another judge making his own laws and ignoring the Supreme Court ruling against sweeping nation-wide injunctions.
DC Judge Allows All Illegal Migrants to Seek Asylum, Halting Deportation
FTA:
The judgment will be appealed, but it argues that the pro-asylum laws passed by Congress decades ago override Trump’s January 20 proclamation, "Guaranteeing the States Protection Against Invasion.”
Trump’s proclamation denied migrants the right to file for amnesty except when made at official entrances to the United States. The proclamation allows Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other agencies to quickly deport migrants without any need to detain them for the months or years needed to resolve an asylum plea in court.
But the judge says illegal migrants can apply for judge-approved asylum anytime and anywhere in the United States as a defense against their deportation. The policy could revive the easy-migration rules imposed by President Barack Obama’s administration that sharply reduced Americans’ wages and spiked housing costs.
Once again a Democrat judge is simply imposing his will on the whole country and just ignoring the SCOTUS ruling which said they can't do that.
The Obama-appointed judge used a cheat, declaring all illegal aliens as a "class" thus making it a class action suit.
These people are truly despicable.
